民進黨總統參選人蔡英文12日前往福佑宮參拜致詞時透露，針對她所提出的社會住宅政策，「已經和柯市長初步交換意見，未來我們可以一起作夥」，一起整合中央和地方資源，快速地在台北市興建社會住宅。

蔡英文說，她未來執政後，有很多事要做，尤其是年輕人在台北這個地方，生存是相當不易的，「他們要找所在來住，要買要租」，都是一個很大的負擔，所以她一定會和台北市長柯文哲一起想辦法，在台北市興建社會住宅，讓年輕人的第一步走得比較穩。

蔡英文指出，已經和柯文哲初步交換意見，將一起整合中央和地方資源，在台北市逐步興建社會住宅，讓年輕人在都市也有住的權利。

台北市長柯文哲曾在競選期間，曾開出8年興建5萬戶的社會住宅支票，在他上任前，北市僅6千多戶社宅。
