今天就是除夕夜，昨（六）日上午新北市長朱立倫一早就到永和保福宮及中和宮廣濟宮、福和宮廟參拜祈福，針對南台灣昨晚強震造成嚴重災情，朱立倫祈求神明保佑民眾平安，並與中央災害應變中心聯繫相關救災需求，全力支援台南市震災。同時，市長朱立倫個人將捐出一百萬元，呼籲社會各界伸出援手。
朱立倫表示，對於強震帶來的災害，第一時間已動員消防及義消特搜人員前往救災，並請相關局處整備救災人力器材機具，待命隨時出發。隨後發送過年小紅包給在場民眾討喜氣，即使天氣很冷現場還是大排長龍，有小朋友笑著表示，「第一次領到市長紅包很開心。」有民眾穿著喜氣特地前來領紅包並開心與朱市長合影。
